DJ John Benjamin

In 2020 John Benjamin left his hometown of Rock Hill, SC to come be an honorary mountaineer here in WV. After living in Charleston, WV for the first four years, he eventually made his way to Barboursville where he has all the conveniences of the Huntington Mall area – including proximity to his favorite restaurant, Waffle House!

John was primarily raised by his grandparents who instilled in him traditional southern values, and his love for music. They introduced young John to a wide variety of music that, to this day, has bred in him an eclectic taste for an array of styles and genres. One of the things that impressed BRAVO Live DJ most when he first joined our team in 2022, was his wealth of music knowledge. John’s familiarity with classic hits from the Rat Pack era; to 60s & 70s Funk and Soul; to 80s Pop and Adult Contemporary was astonishing. Of course, Hip Hop and R&B have a major influence on him as well, but thanks to his roots, the diversity of his musical background is what really sets him apart as a DJ.

Within the BRAVO Live DJ family, John quickly earned the nickname, “Mr. Personality!” To know him is to love him, and he’s certainly never met a stranger. Stories about him going above and beyond to serve our clients are too many to count. To say he’s engaging is an understatement –he’s just plain fun to be around. But watch out! You’re more likely to get a hug from John than a handshake. We love him for it… and we’re sure you will too.

In his off-time, Matt is a self-proclaimed “wanderer.” He loves to travel, even if it’s by himself! Whether it’s going across the country to a great concert, checking out a big city, or hitting the beach to read a good book while relaxing on the shore... Matt’s never been one to be idle. To Matt, life is an adventure. And he certainly makes the most of it!

John has a bachelor’s degree in “Broadcast Journalism” from Greenville Tech, back in South Carolina. And he’s been blessed with three little loves: Jayce (2017), King (2019), and Kash (2026). These boys are adorable!
